Grasslands
About
The Grasslands project was a passion piece I did whilst studying at uni. I wanted to create a landscape in UE4 based on a concept image. At the time I was playing World of Warcraft and so I choose an inspirational image from that game. I ended up grabbing a screen shot from one of the "Saurfang Cinematic" called "Safe Haven". Using the process of blocking the key environment prices as well as where I wanted the village and player to be in relation the camera, I began work on the level.
The level itself is made from UE4's Megascan assets and various marketplace packs which include types of foliage in the level as well as Brushify's background meshes and landscape materials. The character is from Mixamo with a simple sit down animation. It took around 5 hours to complete from blockout to final renders. This project mainly focuses on perspective, camera work/cinematic and environment design and lighting.
